A Lighthouse

A light that shined in this desolate land

Was where I found a helping hand

Lost, cold, hungry, alone

I was an orphan in my dark mud-hut home.

My parents died of a terrible disease

I didn’t know what to do when hunger was slowly killing me.

But when I thought all hope was lost

Someone came to help me despite the cost.

They brought a shining light called “The Word”

A little black book filled with hope is what I heard

It told of a Man that died to save my life

I answered His pleading call and asked Jesus in my heart

They built a house for me to live

They fed, clothed, and told me more about Him.

I’m no longer an “orphan” since that light came

For I have a heavenly Father and people who love me.

Will you help save more children like me?

Will you be a light in a dark dying land?

Help us to learn of the One that saves

And one day we will help others to change

Please give us a chance to be a lighthouse, too.
